LOST CAUSES?

Lost Cause. What does that phrase bring to mind? A political policy, a friend, or a family member…yourself? Often the people of this world who look the most lost, the most unworthy or redemption, the furthest from hope are the ones whom God performs the greatest miracles with! Look at Saul/Paul, the woman at the well, Simon/Peter. God is working miracles from the lost causes of the world!

As a church, we are called to reach the lost cause and to live a life of evangelical hope actively. This past Sunday we discussed being a church that lives in the middle of Paul’s missional strategy to reach the lost. We are called to be a church of word, deed, and power: “For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.” Romans 15:18.

How can you actively live in the sweet spot this week? How can our church better do this? Will you be praying with me this week as we continue to live as Jesus…to seek and save the lost?
